About me

Welcome to Peer Insights!

I'm Peer, a Microsoft Data Platform MVP and Head of Product Engineering at Tabular Editor, and I've been working in Data and BI for over 15 years. These days, my main focus is on adding even more valuable features to the fantastic Tabular Editor tool and diving even further into Microsoft Fabric, which has become a game-changer in the world of data platforms.

Since the early days of Fabric, back when it was still called Project Trident, I've had the opportunity to dive deep into its evolution. Through my earlier years at twoday, and now at Tabular Editor, I've been shaping best practice frameworks and refining everything from data ingestion and transformation to CI/CD, Git integration, and end-to-end automation. My goal is to make sure Fabric works smoothly and efficiently for real-world solutions, not just for demos.

Alongside this blog, I contribute to the community through open source projects such as FabricOps and fabricstack.dev, and by speaking at conferences and community events across Europe and the US, including FabCon Europe, FabCon US, SQLDay, Data Platform Next Step, and many more.

Here on Peer Insights, I share my experiences, tips, and lessons learned from working hands-on with Fabric. Whether you're just starting out or looking to optimize your current setup, I hope this blog helps you unlock the full potential of your data platform with modern, streamlined approaches.

When I'm not immersed in data, I'm a foodie, a wine nerd, and a huge Italophile. Italy is without doubt my second home, and don't be surprised if my love for Italian culture sneaks into the mix here and there. I've been importing wine from Italy for years, coach the local football team, and can usually be found in my wine cellar planning the next pairing.

Let's explore the world of Microsoft Fabric together!
